Hello!

My name's Alicia, and I want to understand the why behind people's decisions.

I am a Chicago-based senior market research associate at one of the world’s leading data, insights, and consulting companies. I translate data into compelling brand and creative stories and assist in day-to-day account activities, all the while building my understanding of human behavior.

In my free time outside of work, I like to explore my creative interests, mostly through co-running and curating a lifestyle website for fellow twenty-somethings.

Why I do what I do. My interest in marketing originated from my general fascination with people—I am forever intrigued by what’s going on in the minds of others and specifically what forces affect their decisions. I like connecting the dots between the psychological aspects of consumerism and what products and ideas individuals and groups are drawn to, and how all of this fits into the human experience.

My occupation is one that feeds off of this persistent curiosity I have for the world around me and it requires me to utilize both my logical knowledge and creative resourcefulness to identify trends and solve problems for brands and organizations. I enjoy taking numbers and turning them into words and visually-appealing charts and dashboards, as well as making data collection more efficient.

Making no small plans. I hope to live life to its fullest length and width—to chase after what brings me joy in every sphere. I set goals that excite me and try new things whenever possible. I aim to have a career that is invigorating and challenging, with work that I can truly be proud of.

Embracing the fact that this is all a work-in-progress, I try to immerse myself in my interests and subscribe to the mindset that everything is "figureoutable" while I collect experiences and learn new ways to interpret the world and my place in it. I am especially drawn to exploring market research, behavioral science, social and individual psychology, history, and general innovation.
